In the face of the increasingly aging situation, the development of home care for the elderly in China is imminent. With the current level of nursing home care in China, there are still many places that need to be improved and upgraded.

  I. At present, home nursing staff in China are mainly divided into formal and informal categories. The formal home nursing staff are hospital clinical nurses, retired nurse volunteers, community nurses, and informal nursing staff are elderly family members or relatives. There are also people like babysitters. The care of formal nursing staff is mainly to provide treatment for diseases and drugs related to diseases for the elderly or patients. The number of informal nursing staff needs to be given care of the elderly and patients under the guidance of formal nursing staff. The main nursing resources in our country are basically concentrated in large hospitals, while communities and families can only provide simple basic health services.

Second: the scope of home care in China mainly includes two aspects, the first one is the hospital to provide care for the elderly or the professional home nurse provides the nursing service, the second is the family members to carry out self-care under the guidance of professionals. People who generally need home care are basically unable to take care of themselves. Long-term bedridden patients are the main target of home care. We should do the following work at home:

  1. Provide guidance to patients on nursing knowledge and technology, and prepare corresponding solutions for people with different levels of illness.

2, to give patients and family members training, so that they can do the auxiliary work of home care.

3, pay attention to the patient's psychological emotions, do psychological counseling for patients, ease their psychological pressure.

  4. Vigorously promote health care knowledge and provide public health awareness and self-care ability.

Three: Most of the elderly are mainly chronic diseases. The needs of home care for the elderly are relatively high in blood pressure monitoring, blood glucose monitoring, and intramuscular injection. There are also some services such as intravenous infusion, oxygen inhalation, and pipeline care. . Chinese old people are greatly influenced by traditional thoughts. They hope that they can finish their lives in their own homes instead of in old-age institutions. This is one of the reasons why China should pay attention to home-based care.
